CPR Demonstration and Training for Staff Members

Description: On 15th February 2025, staff members of St. Patrick’s Higher Secondary School, Asansol, attended a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) workshop in school. The procedure of administering CPR was explained and demonstrated by trained personnel from HLG Memorial Hospital. Dr. Souvik Das monitored the proceedings . This workshop was organised by HLG Memorial Hospital in association with St. Patrick's Asansol Alumni Association. The session also provided hands-on training in performing CPR, ensuring that educators are equipped to respond effectively in emergencies. Beyond CPR, Dr Souvik Das covered crucial aspects of first aid, including how to respond when a student chokes or if there is a nose bleed. He also explained how one could identify students with ADHD, how one could address the menace of bullying, and the rising problem of students facing depression. The session was particularly valuable in preparing staff members to manage real-life situations that may arise within the school environment. Being prepared for medical and psychological emergencies is essential in a school setting, where quick action can save lives and provide timely intervention.
