Description: “There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about.” - Margaret J. Wheatley We at St. Patrick’s believe in a culture that is inclusive of everyone and where everyone who joins feels they have opportunities to succeed and grow. In our endeavour to promote this feeling of belongingness beyond the barriers of our school campus, we organized a Social Justice workshop on the 18th of August, 2022, which witnessed the participation of numerous schools from Asansol. Representative students and teachers from the following schools participated in the workshop. St. Mary Goretti Girls’ Higher Secondary School St. Vincent’s High and Technical School St. Jude’s School,Asansol Asansol Rahmania High School Tulsirani Balika Sikkha Sadan Loreto Convent School, Asansol St. Joseph’s High School Manimala Girls High School Asansol Old Station School (H.S) St. Patrick’s Higher Secondary School The medium of instruction in these schools are varied – English, Hindi and Bengali. This fostered inclusivity, which was the main objective of our workshop. Through the workshop, we helped the participants understand the wider concept of ‘community’- specifically, the needs of our community and to realise what we can do, as individuals and as a school, for the betterment of our community.
